After the final whistle at Anfield, Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy following a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, marking their first title celebration with fans at home since 1990. Having sealed the league weeks earlier with a dominant win over Tottenham, the Reds, under new manager Arne Slot, equalled Manchester United’s record with their 20th English top-flight crown.
This was Liverpool’s first home title presentation with supporters since the pandemic-affected 2020 season. Virgil van Dijk received the trophy from club legend Alan Hansen, while icons like Kenny Dalglish and Jurgen Klopp watched from the stands. Despite the draw, the atmosphere remained electric, with fireworks and club anthems filling the air. Ismaila Sarr gave Palace an early lead, but Mohamed Salah equalised in the 84th minute, scoring his 29th goal of the season.
This secured him a fourth Golden Boot and matched the Premier League record for most goal involvements (47) in a season. Trent Alexander-Arnold, set to leave for Real Madrid, was given a heartfelt farewell by fans, kissing the badge after coming off the bench. Liverpool will continue celebrations with an open-top bus parade through the city on Monday, closing a historic and emotional season.
