Jonathan David has reached a personal agreement with Juventus on a €6 million annual salary plus bonuses. Now a free agent after scoring 25 goals for Lille last season, David has instructed his agent to finalise the move. Juventus, boosted by €7 million from their participation in the Club World Cup, are expected to complete the signing soon.

During the summer of 2025, Canadian striker Jonathan David has taken a major step toward joining Juventus after agreeing to personal terms with the Serie A club. David has reportedly accepted a salary package worth €6 million per year, along with performance-based bonuses. However, the finalisation of the deal hinges on negotiations over agent commissions and signing bonuses.

David, who recently became a free agent after letting his contract with Lille expire, is coming off an exceptional season, scoring 25 goals across all competitions and Juventus are pushing for the move as they prepare for the expected departure of Dusan Vlahovic, who has refused to sign a new contract. With Vlahovic likely to be sold, the club sees David as a direct replacement to lead their frontline.

The deal has been further facilitated by Juventus’ €7 million windfall from qualifying for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which provides added financial flexibility to secure the Canadian forward and Club president Damien Comolli is eager to finalise the transfer quickly as Juventus seek to bolster their attack ahead of the new season. For David, the move represents a significant step up from Lille to a European powerhouse, and he will be aiming to replicate his impressive form on a bigger stage.
