Atalanta secured a 1-1 draw with Juventus, with Mateo Retegui scoring a late equalizer after returning from a hamstring injury. This goal took him to the top of the Serie A scoring charts with 13 goals. Atalanta moved to 43 points, four behind leaders Napoli. In contrast, Milan earned a 2-1 victory against Como, marking Sergio Conceicao's first league win as coach.

In the match between Atalanta and Juventus, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw, with Atalanta remaining within striking distance of Serie A leaders Napoli. Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, returning from a four-week hamstring injury, scored a close-range header in the 78th minute, levelling the match after Juventus’ Pierre Kalulu had opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Retegui’s goal brought him to the top of the Serie A scoring charts with 13 goals and pushed Atalanta to 43 points, just four behind Napoli.

The match was an important rescheduled fixture due to both teams' participation in the Italian Super Cup earlier in January. Atalanta, who are aiming for their first league title, sit level on points with Inter Milan, though Inter have two games in hand.

Juventus, dealing with an injury crisis that left them without a recognized striker, had their chances but were unable to capitalize. Despite their 13 draws from 20 matches, Juventus remain unbeaten and sit fifth, 13 points behind Napoli. Atalanta, meanwhile, heads into a crucial weekend match against Napoli, hoping to close the gap.
