Former England captain and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand and former Leicester City footballer Robbie Savage will arrive in India on February 9 as part of a project associated with the British broadcaster BT Sport, who are organising a special training and interactive event for young children.

Both footballers, who are ambassadors for BT Sport, will also participate in BT’s charitable initiatives in the capital in association with the Supporters Club.

“BT through The Supporters Club has helped thousands of youngsters to improve their lives through the power of sport around the world, including in India. I have heard lots about the work of the projects we will be visiting in Delhi and can’t wait to meet the youngsters and those who work to support them,” said Ferdinand about his trip to India, as per a report on PTI.

They will also visit the Arsenal Soccer School centre at Pathways School, Gurgaon to conduct an exclusive training session with young footballers.

“Rio and myself are going to have a busy week in Delhi, visiting projects backed by BT and making films for the BT Sport TV channel in the UK. I am sure it’s going to be humbling and inspiring in equal measure”, said Savage.
