Ricky Ponting has been one of the masters of the modern-day pull shot and Grace Harris paid tribute to that with a dominant shot against Mumbai Indians in the WPL in Navi Mumbai. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener started the chase with a stylish boundary as Nat Sciver-Brunt erred in length.
In reply, Grace Harris gave RCB a marauding start with a boundary off the very first ball from Nat Sciver-Brunt. The England skipper got her length wrong straightaway, bowling a half-tracker at hip height around middle and leg stump.
The Australian all-rounder did not have any second thoughts as she pounced onto the erroneous delivery. She dispatched the ball away from sight with a powerful and majestic-looking pull shot.
No fielder moved as the ball raced to the boundary cushion in a jiffy, giving an electric start to the chase. The Aussie batter did not stop there as she welcomed her fellow countrywoman Nicola Carey into the attack with a six and four in a 20-run over.
Twitter was quickly reminded of Ricky Ponting as Harris played the pull shot with perfection and authority.
