The game was played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The Riders won the toss and asked the Districts to bat first.

Batting first, the Central Districts posted a total of 147/8 in the allotted 20 overs, courtesy of skipper Tom Bruce’s crucial 42 runs off 30 balls, with three fours and two sixes, alongside opener Will Young’s 33 runs off 25 balls, with four fours and a six. Besides these two, Dean Foxcroft also scored 21 runs off 19 balls, with two fours. Tabraiz Shami bowled a sensational and game-defining spell for the Rangpur Riders in the first innings, scalping 3 wickets at just 21 runs in his four overs. Besides him, Azmatullah Omarzai also claimed 2 wickets at 28 runs in his four-over quota, alongside a wicket bagged by Rakibul Hasan.

Tabraiz Shamsi won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his outstanding and match-winning bowling performance in the first innings for the Rangpur Riders. Shamsi scalped 3 wickets, conceding just 21 runs in his entire quota of four overs. His performance played a vital role in derailing the scoring acceleration of the Districts in the first half of the game.
