ENG vs IND | Twitter in shock as brainfaded Jadeja misses juicy volley outside leg stump

Professional cricketers often come up with brainfade moments to have the audience in splits and it was Ravindra Jadeja’s turn this time. The Indian all-rounder left a juicy half volley outside leg stump in the second Test against England in Birmingham and ended up asking for a wide.

‌India had two excellent sessions on day four of the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham as they went into tea at 304/4 with an overall lead of 484. Captain Shubman Gill once again led from the front with his second century of the Test match while Rishabh Pant’s quickfire 65 off 58 balls ensured India had a sizeable advantage over the hosts.

But Ravindra Jadeja drew some flak for his ultra-defensive approach in the second session when India were looking to bat England out of the match. The Indian all-rounder crawled to 25 off 68 balls as India walked into tea. However, he showed some intent in the last session as he started with a six in the second ball after the restart.

But he again slowed down, even as Gill went bonkers at the other end, despite Shoaib Bashir inviting him to go for the big shot. He played the waiting game as he denied the bait from the off-spinner.

But Jadeja shocked the cricketing world when the lanky offie sent a flighted delivery outside leg stump in the last ball of the 77th over. It was a bonus delivery, especially keeping in mind India’s urgency to score runs. But the all-rounder left the ball alone, and to make it worse, asked for a wide from the umpire.

Twitteratti was shocked to see such an action from a veteran cricketer like Jadeja as the southpaw missed out on a free-scoring opportunity.

LOL! What happened?

Moye moye!
