IPL 2019 | Virat Kohli has different kind of hunger when playing for India, feels Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav has said that Virat Kohli will not be under any sort of pressure going to the World Cup because the Indian skipper has a “different kind of hunger” when it comes to representing India. The Kohli-led RCB side has a perfect losing record in IPL with six losses in as many games so far.

This is the first time in the history of the IPL that it is preceding a World Cup and it was always going to have an impact on the quadrennial event - be it a player's confidence or a team's selection. As the IPL has progressed, one thing that has become extremely clear is the fact that Royal Challengers Bangalore will miss the playoffs for the third time in a row after a disastrous 0-6 start to the season.

While most fans seemed to be happily trolling the talent-laden side, a few fans have raised the question of what kind of impact would the campaign have on the Indian skipper going into the World Cup. Kuldeep Yadav, though, rubbished such claims and said that Kohli, who is the highest-ranked batsman in ODIs, will be just fine.

With 5000-plus runs, individually he's doing his best

Kuldeep, on Kohli's IPL form

"He's one of the best in the world, has broken so many records I don't think he will be affected by this," Kuldeep said, reported TOI.

"He has a different hunger when he plays for India. Everyone is highly motivated to do well in the World Cup."

The leg spinner also provided some insights on what he believes are RCB’s struggles.

"With 5000-plus runs, individually he's doing his best. But maybe his team combination is not clicking. He's in great touch and if he keeps doing well like that it will be good for India in World Cup," Kuldeep concluded.
