KL Rahul has made a huge leap in the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen and landed at the third place behind Aaron Finch and Fakhar Zaman. On the bowling front, India’s top-ranked T20I bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal, dropped one place and was replaced by Ish Sodhi (3) of New Zealand in the latest rankings.

KL Rahul, who scored his second T20I century recently, has been in incredible touch over the last month or so. After an impressive 70 against Ireland in the second T20I, Rahul was handed a chance to play against England in the first T20I in Manchester where he scored his second T20I century with an unbeaten 101 that helped Rahul reach 812 points on the leaderboard.

The Indian, however, still trails Australian opener Aaron Finch, who leads the table with 891 points. Finch scored an astonishing 172 against Zimbabwe, in the recently concluded tri-series that also included Pakistan, to strengthen his lead at the top. Fakhar Zaman, who scored 278 runs in five matches, stands between Rahul and Finch. The other two Indians in the top twenty are Rohit Sharma (11) and Virat Kohli (12).

In the bowler’s rankings, Chahal dropped a place to fourth on a list that is dominated by leg spinners. Rashid Khan (813), Shadab Khan (723), and Ish Sodhi (700) make up the top three in the rankings followed by Chahal who has 685 rating points to his name.

After their win in the tri-series final against Australia, Pakistan have retained the top spot as far as teams are concerned with 132 rating points to their name. India are in second place, eight rating points behind their arch-rivals, with Australia a further two points behind them.
