Seven-year-old Archie Schiller, who was called up to the Australian Test team for the Boxing Day Test, received the iconic Baggy Green and then went to the toss ceremony as the co-captain. Then, he went on to coach the players in the dug-out and even reached the Fox Commentary box to call the game.

Cricket Australia, on the Family Day at the Yarra Park ahead of the third Test against India, had announced that Archie would co-captain alongside Tim Paine and was set to partner off-spinner Nathan Lyon. He practised with the Australian teammates and was quite enjoying it as well. Today, he received the Baggy Green cap from Lyon and was draped in Aussie blazer and whites while coming for the toss.

When Isha Guha asked what message he wanted to give to his team before the historic Test, Archie was clear about it and said “Hit sixes and get wickets.”

At the toss, Paine also revealed that Archie had advised him he should definitely bat first if the coin fell his way, but Paine had told him that he was not sure about it.

“Archie wanted to bat, 100 per cent, but I told him that I wasn’t entirely sure,” Paine said.

After the toss, the kid from Adelaide shook the hands with Virat Kohli and once the game started, he reached the dug-out and was animatedly teaching leg-spin to his other teammates. After donning the role of skipper and coach, Archie then turned towards the commentary box and joined Isha Guha and Mark Waugh to call the game before returning to the dressing room, which he can call his dressing room.

At the end of the game, he gave a detailed interview to Fox, in which he called himself as "the most famous person in the world" before mimicking Tim Paine by saying," Nice Garyyyyyy".
