WATCH | Kumar Sangakkara takes a blinder in PSL

Playing for Karachi Kings against Islamabad United in the 2nd qualifying final of the PSL, Kumar Sangakkara took a stunning catch behind the stumps to dismiss Dwayne Smith in the third over of the innings. Karachi won the low-scoring game by 44 runs as Islamabad were bowled out for 82.

Batting first, Karachi Kings were restricted to a score of 126, and they were in need of some inspiration in order to defend that trifling total. That inspiration arrived in the third over of the innings as Dwayne Smith, who had announced his retirement from international cricket yesterday, slashed hard at a delivery from Mohammad Amir and produced a thick outside edge.

The ball had gathered a lot of pace as it flew behind the stumps. However, in a moment of brilliance, Sangakkara flew off the ground, stretched out his right hand, and plucked the speeding ball out of the thin air to complete a memorable catch. Amir, Imad Wasim, and Usama Mir blew away Islamabad after that, bowling them out for just 82 runs in the 16th over.
